Blood donations are especially needed during the winter months to help prevent a shortage. Your help is greatly appreciated and needed to guarantee an adequate blood supply is available at all times.

As a special reward and extra incentive for blood donations this winter, LifeServe Blood Center is offering Double Points for every blood donation made between December 12, 2011 and February 11, 2012. The points can be redeemed at the LifeServe Blood Center Online Store, which contains a variety of clothing and gift items to choose from.

"Paint the Gym Pink"! This special event will take place on Friday, February 3 at the Sioux Center Community High School. Special t-shirts can be purchased by contacting Cheryl Sneller at the Sioux Center Community Hospital (712.722.8197), online at www.schospital.org, or the High School Key Club. All orders are needed by January 20. There will also be a taco feed beginning at 5:15 p.m. Wear your pink shirt the evening of the game and receive a FREE bag of popcorn. All proceeds will go towards digital mammography equipment and the High School Fine Arts Departement in memory of Mary Bleeker.

Save the date! Join the Family Crisis Centers of Northwest Iowa as they host a Wine Gala & Auction on February 24 at The Ridge in Sioux Center. While there, you can sample wines from several local wineries including Little Swan Lake from Estherville, IA; Calico Skies Winery from Inwood, IA; Valiant Vineyards & Winery from Vermillion, SD; and Santa Maria Winery from Carroll, IA. The wine tasting will from from 5:00-8:00pm. You can also enjoy speaker and comedian Pat McGill as she presents “What’s in the Clinking of Crystal?” beginning at 6:30pm. The auction will follow at 7:00pm.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Melissa’s Hope Chest by calling 712.722.4488. Tickets are $15.00 for individuals or $25.00 for couples. This price includes hors d’oeuvres and dessert bar. Come enjoy a great time & great wine!
