Promise Community Health Center is sponsoring its 3rd annual Wellness on Wheels bicycle ride in conjunction with Sioux Center’s Summer Celebration. The event is intended to encourage families and individuals to be active together by getting on their bicycles and joining the fun. Wellness on Wheels (“WOW”) features a six-mile Family Ride within the town of Sioux Center. More experienced riders can tackle 35 and 50-mile routes that will extend to the towns of Rock Valley, Doon and Hull. All routes will be well-marked and will feature water and snack stops. A support (or “SAG”) vehicle will be driving the out-of-town routes. The ride fee is $20 per person if preregistered, $25 per person if not preregistered or $30 for families if preregistered, $35 if not preregistered. The first 125 registered riders will receive a WOW3 t-shirt and will be entered in the prize drawings. Make sure to stick around after the ride to enjoy the Riders’ Burger Feed.

Friends of NISO is sponsoring a garden tour on June 25 from 4-8pm and June 26 from 9am-1pm. Tickets are $15 each or 2 for $25. The gardens of Greenworld; Ground Effects; Anne Hooyer; Allan & Carol Kramer; Darlene & Marion Mouw; and, Tom & Jen Sandbulte will be featured this year. All proceeds will go to support the NISO Student Scholarship Fund.
Tickets are available at the Sioux Center Chamber Office, 303 N Main Ave, all day June 24 & 25 and the morning of June 26. Tickets will also be available at each garden site both days. For more information on the garden sites, view the brochure.
